If you were asked who your worst enemy is, you could probably think of a few prospective candidates. However, the real answer would be you. That’s because, although you’re responsible for the decisions you make and their consequences, you often make mistakes along the way.
Furthermore, you may not want to take the initiative and decide on a particular path because you’re afraid of making mistakes. This is a huge error.
Despite the weaknesses that characterize you as human, you must maintain your self-esteem at the appropriate level to achieve what you long for, without falling into the extreme of ‘egocentricity’.
Stop being your own worst enemy
Your brain needs to establish objectives and clear and precise information so that you can achieve your goals. In other words, in order to ‘travel the path’, you have to know where you’re going. If you only focus on identifying what you want to avoid and what’s undesirable, you’ll lose sight of the horizon you want to reach.
This means that it’s essential to place trust in yourself if you want to get anywhere. Nevertheless, if you’re suffering internal conflicts and your self-confidence is being affected, you need to start asking yourself some questions.
Listen to your inner self
Eileen Luders, a neurologist at the University of Los Angeles (USA) affirms that meditation influences the brain’s ability to modify and adapt to environmental changes, improving the connection between its neurons.
There’s little doubt that you possess an incredible ability to overcome any obstacle and achieve success. However, you must examine your interior universe and consult the innate wisdom that you carry within you. Only then will you be able to clearly define if your actions coincide with the true essence of your being.
In other words, self-questioning is a fundamental key to intuiting what decisions you must make.
Nonetheless, you often make your decisions based on the advice of others. This isn’t because you don’t know what to do, but because you want your decisions to be validated.
Make everything clear
Self-questioning means talking to yourself or carrying out a process of introspection. This is defined by psychology as the knowledge that you have of your own mental states to make a new assessment of the world around you.
However, routine often deafens and blinds you and you end up living in an almost mechanized way. You daily absorb a quantity of information that you store in your unconscious, which ultimately produces a disconnection with your own dreams and expectations.
For example, are you really happy with your job? Do you eat healthily? Do you feel that your partner values you? Is it time you started to say yes? Have you stopped meeting your goals? Do you want to be closer to your family? Do you have friends who enrich your life?. If you haven’t thought about these kinds of questions for a long time, perhaps now it’s time to take a moment to reflect and ask them.
Self-questioning means having the strength to recognize yourself in an ocean of emotions. You’re the captain of your own ship, your own navigator in the sea of your experiences. In fact, no one else but you can lead you to success. You have the intelligence and wisdom to set a course for yourself, wherever your consciousness and dreams drive you. Stop doubting yourself and being your own worst enemy. You can reach paradise.
